Parks and Solace

April 26, 2018

I grew up playing in Cheesequake Park, which abutted my grandmother’s condo and was a mere half-mile from my childhood home. My favorite spot was at the top of a hill deep within the woods – where the rays of sunlight would spotlight one patch of grass at the pinnacle. Spent many an afternoon there, in the quiet.

Perhaps this is why my protagonist in my novel, Treasure, finds her treasure in that magical spot. And perhaps, this is why I return, again and again, to capture images.

This image was taken at a lake in Clinton, New Jersey – and the silence of the park that morning was glorious.
