Art Influences: Lana Thomas

June 27, 2021

It’s Sunday, kids! Time for Art Lessons. Yes, Sundays will be a time for me to write about art: styles, photography, art history, influences…

And we start with my friend, boudoir photography, Lana Thomas.

In 2010, as a business consultant, I helped Lana launch her Tulsa studio, Voulez Vous Portraits. Her style and approach are inspiring! She empowers women – and her elegance and style is apparent in her photo approach.

Lana has cornered the Tulsa boudoir photo market. And when you visit her site, the why is obvious. Boudoir photography features intimate, sensual and romantic images typically taking in private spaces. Like a boudoir (private dressing or sitting room) or bedroom. Portraits range from obscene, to racy, to sensual, to romantic, to classy. The purpose is to empower the model – to allow, typically a woman, to express herself.

Lana’s photos are one the classy end of the spectrum. Not only is she a talented and skilled photographer, but also is an artist.

As I began my photo career, I asked her for mentoring – which she has provided. And her help has made a world of difference in my business. And, yes, I am building my boudoir portfolio. Just ask to arrange your own session!
